Dates and months on a Bengali receipt
Rent in Kolkata runs by English calendar months, so the receipt uses them: 1 এপ্রিল to 30 এপ্রিল, not the Bengali months বৈশাখ or কার্তিক, which start in the middle of an English month. Using English months also keeps the receipt in line with the financial year (April to March) that the tenant's employer works with.
The rules on the landlord's PAN and the ₹1 revenue stamp for cash above ₹5,000 are the same for every language, and the main rent receipt format page explains them with sources. A new tenant should also be reported to the police; see tenant police verification in West Bengal.
