Rent reminder message in Bengali (ভাড়া মনে করিয়ে দেওয়ার মেসেজ)

A Bengali rent reminder can be four lines long: a greeting, the month and ভাড়া (rent) amount, the date it is due, and your UPI ID with a request for the payment screenshot. Below are polite, firm and final reminders in Bengali, and a thank-you message, each ready to copy into WhatsApp for your tenant.
Writing to a tenant in Bengali
Use the respectful আপনি (apni) form in every line; তুমি is for family and close friends. In speech, Kolkata landlords often call a tenant দাদা or দিদি, or add বাবু after a man's name, but in writing the name on its own is neutral and safe. Choose the greeting you already use with the tenant: নমস্কার in the templates, or আসসালামু আলাইকুম if that is how you usually speak.

Bengali has its own digits (১, ২, ৩), but use ordinary digits for the rent and the date, as the templates do. They match the amount in the tenant's UPI app, and nobody has to convert them.
Polite Bengali reminder before the due date
Send it two or three days ahead. If the tenant pays the CESC or WBSEDCL electricity bill through you, add the amount on its own line.

Firm Bengali reminder after a week
When a week has passed, the message should quote the dates of your earlier reminders and the rent date from your agreement, and ask for a firm date in writing.

Final Bengali reminder
Send this last message only when rent for a month or more is unpaid and earlier reminders went unanswered. It sets a deadline and mentions legal advice, nothing else. Never threaten to cut the electricity, lock the room or remove belongings. Read what to do when a tenant is not paying rent.

A few practical points
- Bengali months such as কার্তিক do not line up with English months. Write the English month in Bengali letters, like অক্টোবর, so the due date is clear.

Frequently asked questions
How do I say "please pay the rent" in Bengali?
দয়া করে ভাড়াটা দিয়ে দিন (doya kore bhaarata diye din). Add the month and the amount so there is no confusion.
Should I call my tenant দাদা or দিদি in a rent message?
Only if you already do in person. In a written reminder, the tenant's name with the respectful আপনি form reads well for anyone.
Can I send these messages by SMS instead of WhatsApp?
