Rent reminder message in Marathi (भाडे आठवण संदेश)

A Marathi rent reminder greets the tenant with नमस्कार and their name plus जी, then states the month, the भाडे (rent) amount, the last date and your UPI ID. Most Maharashtra rentals run on leave and licence agreements, and the firm message below refers to one. Copy the polite, firm, final or thank-you message.
Marathi, not Hindi: why it matters
Marathi and Hindi share the Devanagari script, but the words differ. Rent is भाडे (bhaade) in Marathi and किराया in Hindi; a tenant is भाडेकरू, not किरायेदार. A Hindi message sent to a Marathi family in Pune reads as if it came from someone else. If your tenant is from north India and speaks Hindi, use the Hindi messages on the main page instead.

Adding जी (ji) after the name, as in "Sunil जी", is polite for anyone. With older tenants, some owners use साहेब (saheb) or ताई (tai, elder sister) instead. Always use the respectful तुम्ही or आपण, never तू.
Polite Marathi reminder before the due date
Send this two or three days before rent is due. If the society maintenance is paid by the tenant through you, add a line with that amount. Paste the UPI ID in English letters.

Firm Marathi reminder, with the leave and licence agreement
After a week, refer to the agreement and the dates you already reminded the tenant. Under leave and licence the monthly amount is technically a licence fee, but in a message "भाडे" is what everyone understands. Change लिव्ह अँड लायसन्स करार to भाडे करार if you signed a plain rent agreement.

Final Marathi reminder
This message gives a final date and says you will take legal advice. It does not threaten. Never cut the water or electricity or change the lock on a flat in Mumbai or anywhere else; that can make you liable. See what to do when a tenant is not paying rent.

Before you send it
- Choose पाठवतो (for a man) or पाठवते (for a woman) and delete the other. Marathi verbs change with the speaker.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Marathi word for rent?
भाडे (bhaade). Monthly rent is मासिक भाडे, and a tenant is भाडेकरू.
Can I use the Hindi rent reminder for a Marathi tenant?
It will be understood, but it will not feel like it came from a local owner. Marathi uses different words for rent, tenant and receipt, so send the Marathi version.
Should a reminder call the rent a licence fee?
There is no need in a WhatsApp message. The agreement can say licence fee; the reminder just needs the amount, the month and the date.
