Tenant police verification in Haryana: Gurugram, Faridabad and the Har Samay portal

In Haryana, Gurugram Police link owners to the Har Samay portal for online tenant verification. Offline, you download the Gurugram Police form, fill it in, and hand it to the police station covering the property with the tenant's documents. Keep one copy and give another to your RWA president. Faridabad Police give the same instructions. No fee is published.
Can I verify a tenant online in Haryana?
Yes. The Gurugram Police tenant verification page has a link for online employee, servant and tenant verification. It opens the login page of Har Samay, the citizen portal of Haryana Police. The police page does not explain the steps inside the portal, so we have not listed them here. Expect to sign in first, then follow the tenant verification option the portal shows.
If you would rather not use the portal, or it is down, the paper route below is the one both Gurugram and Faridabad Police describe on their own websites.
How to submit the tenant form at a police station
Download the form
Gurugram Police publish the Employee/Servant/Tenant Verification Application Form as a PDF. Print it.
Fill it in with the tenant
Sit down with the tenant and complete every part. The list of what it asks for is in the next section.
Hand it in at the right station
Submit it at the police station whose area includes the rented property, with the relevant documents attached.
Keep a copy
Hold on to one filled-in copy yourself, ideally with the station's stamp or signature on it.
Give a copy to the RWA
Both police pages ask owners to give a copy to the president of the RWA (resident welfare association) of the colony or society.
The Faridabad Police tenant verification page repeats these steps, including the copy for the RWA president. It does not link a Faridabad version of the form or an online option, so ask your station which form it accepts.
What the Gurugram tenant verification form asks for
| Part of the form | What you fill in |
|---|---|
| Landlord | Sector or colony, house number, police station, your name, father's name and mobile number |
| Tenant | Full name, any alias, father's and spouse's names, phone, occupation, age, nationality and sex |
| Permanent home | Permanent address with its police station, district and state |
| Identity | Proof of identity, such as a voter card, driving licence or ration card |
| Native place references | Two people from the tenant's native place who know them |
| Local stay | Local address and since when, the local police station or post, and the previous landlord |
| Local references | Two references from the local area |
| Work | Nature and place of work, and previous employment |
| Household | Each family member living with the tenant: name, age, sex, relation, occupation and mobile number |
| Photo and signature | A passport-size photo of the tenant, and the landlord's signature |
This form is for information only
A note at the foot of the Gurugram form says it is only an information form. For the actual police verification, the landlord writes separately, in the prescribed proforma, to the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district where the tenant's permanent address is. The form does not reproduce that proforma, so ask at the station for it.
Documents to collect from the tenant
Neither police page gives a full list. The pages only say "relevant documents", and the form itself points to these:
- Proof of identity. The form names a voter card, driving licence or ration card as examples.
- A passport-size photo of the tenant, to paste on the form.
- Contact details for four references: two from the native place and two local.
- Details of everyone moving in with the tenant, so you can fill the household table.
Take photocopies and keep the originals with the tenant. Our rent agreement format has a clause in which the tenant agrees to provide ID and photographs and to cooperate with verification.
Fee and how long it takes
We could not confirm a fee. The Haryana Police fee page was not loading when we checked on 20 October 2026, and neither the Gurugram nor the Faridabad page mentions one. Neither page gives a timeline or a penalty for not reporting a tenant. On Har Samay, look for any charge on screen before you confirm; at a station, ask before you hand the form in.
The Gurugram page was last updated in August 2019, so the form or the process may have changed. Check with the station before you rely on it.
PG owners and other housing in Haryana
The Gurugram form covers employees and domestic workers as well as tenants, so the same form is used for each person you take in. We did not find PG-specific instructions on the Haryana pages we read. The national tenant police verification guide has general advice for PG occupants, and our PG rental agreement format covers the agreement with each occupant.
Stamp duty on a Haryana rent agreement
We have not yet published a Haryana stamp duty page, because the official rate pages were down when we checked. For how stamp duty on a rent agreement works and the rates for the states we could confirm, see stamp duty on rent agreements.
Keep the tenant's papers with the rent records
One place for the lease, KYC and rent
Domvio does not file police verification for you. It keeps each tenant's lease and KYC documents in one place, next to their rent history and the PDF receipts it sends on WhatsApp. See the rent collection app.
